Photos of Irina & I in Moscow

This is a small selection of photos of me and my girlfriend (at the time, now my ex-wife) Irina, on our [apr/may '03] holiday together in Moscow.

N.B. This page is mostly photo's, so it may take a few moments to load all the pictures.

This is Irina outside our hotel, all 28 stories of it!

The view from the window was pretty cool!

The hotel pool was a bit cold though! ;)

The architecture around Red Square is quite fantastic to see.

Irene standing next to the biggest canon I've ever seen.

The canon balls weighed 1 Ton!!!

This is Irina outside the Bolshoi Ballet. Those of you who know me may not believe this, but Irene managed to persuade me to go to the Ballet!

Irene wasn't very impressed by the show (La Sliphyde), she says it wasn't that good. As it was the first ballet I have ever seen I wouldn't know, but I enjoyed the experience. But that's probably because I enjoy doing just about anything with Irene! laugh

We decided to go and see a english language movie in the Radison Hotel. It's a very smart hotel, but it seems the cinema isn't that popular, there were only three of us in the place!

I tried to persuade Irina that I had arranged it as a special treat for her, but she's just too smart to fall for such a line!

This is Irina outside one of the most impressive and formidable buildings I've seen, you can see it from across the city. I believe it was the Ministry of Foreign Affairs building in communist times.

Oh, I even managed to track down an "English" theme pub.

It was fairly authentic, being at least as expensive as the Blue Boar!
